Our good friend Jen, with whom we went to grad school at K-State, is in town for a couple of days. She’s been living in Houston for the past several years, but happily for us, she has family here in Kansas (including in-laws in Lawrence), so we usually get to see her several times a year.

We had a great time last night. We went to a poetry reading our friend Rob hosted, and then after eating some dinner, we went to a new-ish Irish pub Ben’s been wanting to check out. Here are some pics from our evening with Jen last night.

Jen is actually going to be in China while we are there. The school where she teaches takes a group of students to China for a couple of weeks once every couple of years, and Jen is going to be one of the teacher chaperones this year. What perfect timing! It will be so much fun to hang out with Jen in China this winter.
